Life Well Spent Finance is operated by Marisa Battaglini, a sole proprietor doing business as "Life Well Spent Finance" ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what we collect across our website, Steady, Savor, and our free tools (the tax calculator, Write-Off List, and CPA Handoff Checklist), and what we do with it.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create a Steady or Savor account: your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Netlify Identity — we never see or store your password ourselves), and your name.
Financial data you enter. Income, expenses, invoices, client and vendor contact details, tax payments, and any receipts or documents you upload. This data is yours — see "Your choices," below, for how to export or delete it.
Payment information. Subscription payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly, under its own privacy and security practices.
Free tools. The tax calculator runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you enter are never sent to or stored on our servers. If you request the Write-Off List or CPA Handoff Checklist, we collect the email address you provide to send it.
Receipt scanning (optional). If you use the receipt-photo feature in Steady, the image is sent to Anthropic's AI service to read the vendor, amount, and date, so those fields can be filled in automatically. The image itself is not retained by us for any purpose beyond that one-time read.
Communications. If you email us, join our free tools' mailing list, or fill out a survey, we keep what you send us so we can respond or use your feedback to improve the product.
How we use your information
- To provide and maintain Steady, Savor, and our free tools
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send you service-related emails (trial reminders, receipts, product updates)
- To respond to your questions and support requests
- To improve our products based on how they're actually used and the feedback we receive
Who we share information with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that make Steady and Savor work, each under their own privacy practices:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Netlify — hosting, account authentication, and data storage
- Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
- Anthropic — reading receipt photos, if you use that feature
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Life Well Spent Finance or our users.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored using Netlify's infrastructure. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
Export your data. Steady lets you export your full transaction history and records to Excel or JSON at any time, from within the app.
Delete your account. Contact us and we'll delete your account and associated data, except where we're required to retain records (for example, payment records needed for tax or accounting purposes).
Unsubscribe. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Service-related emails (like trial or billing notices) are necessary to your account and can't be turned off while your account is active.
Children's privacy
Our services are not directed at, and are not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
